Coral is so delightfully unexpected as a creature that could hear sound or make sound. Steve Simpson and Tim Gordon found coral larva, which are born in these mass spawning events that occur on a full moon,. They actually found that coral larva can hear sound. If you put underwater speakers and you play the sounds of healthy coral reefs, you have to imagine these degraded landscapes, bear empty barren of life. But it attracts fish and coral larva back.
