How Far to the Promise Land

"Life is difficult. This carrying cross-carrying doesn't stop at some point," he says. "I don't know if any of us make it to the promise land, like apart from when God returns." The central character in the book is who's interesting enough rarely in the book has a beginning and an end. He comes and goes as my father did; his life was shaped by that decision.

What is the most racist thing you’ve ever experienced?

That’s the question that was posed to Esau McCaulley, an author, assistant professor, and contributing opinion writer for the New York Times, as he sat on a panel in front of a mostly white audience. He didn’t answer the question. On a new episode of The Russell Moore Show, he explains why.
