One of the new lines I hear from the right is that liberalism is acid because it dissolves the culture and particular bonds and makes people alone and sad. For conservatives caring about yourself wanting to to read some sort of self fulfillment based on your own standards is something which is bad why? Because it routes you away from your supposed duties to the community or the country. This is why if you go back to the episode of national conservatism, you'll see that for national conservatives freedom is a problembecause freedom tells you you are not bound by the things that we want you to be bound with. And there's a comfort in it being given to you so into that you're an individual you don't
