The Importance of Precedent in Exploration
In a way, travel itself forces one to unpack the very idea of exploration and just what it is one is exploring and discovering. So how did actual travel change your relationship to the idea of exploration that you dreamt about when you were young? For me now, it's much more almost a poetic process, like sort of unearthing metaphors about the world that somehow can come together and make a total sense of what you're trying to understand. But I really think exploration is hard is about expanding our consciousness and our understanding of connections between things we maybe didn't expect were connected.
