The Cultural Importance of Being Nice

Rachel regularly works with women in the corporate world who want to break down these structures. For Rachel this is about more than professional vocation it's personal for her. As I have gotten older as I have moved away from my traditional Jewish enclave it has become clear to me that my voice codes louder more aggressive than the average female. This is called tone policing where we decide to disqualify the content of what someone says because we don't like the tone in which it was delivered. It's almost impossible to take up space as a woman in a way that's meaningful to you or to the space that you're in without offending someone. The cultural imperative to be nice might conflict with her desire to
