Early belief was that God owns the land therefore representative of God on earth own it. English kings would give chunks to favoured knights of the realm and we peasantry paid fealty to them. In 1600 and 4 which is a sort of crucial year in the whole land story, it became formalised by an act of parliament. The food production in Radipole suddenly skyrocketed and everyone was happy except for the people who used to have their pigs or sheep or letters or radishes on that land. They if they didn't own the land were disgruntled and they were literally dispossessed. All over the country there was a huge number of dispossessed people so what did they do? Well
