When indigenous University of North Carolina student Faith Hedgepeth turned up murdered in her friend’s off-campus apartment, there were no obvious suspects for who would have wanted to kill the kind and generous young woman. It would take investigators over 9 years and DNA forensic genealogy to solve her case.
