Boulotti was a huge win for what Professor Robert Kerr calls the corporate free speech movement. If Lewis Powell had not been on the court at that time, it probably would have gone the other way. It seems to me that society has given the press a great privilege and that privilege is embodied in the First Amendment. That privilege is only going to survive so long as society believes that the press is doing things that are useful to society.
