The Priesthood and the Teaching of Celibacy
Priests go through three phases on celibacy. They see it first of all as penance and a sacrifice that they've accepted because they know God wants them to be a priest. And then eventually as they move and they see their peers having children, this can happen to religious to. So that's where sometimes priests fall into trouble in that phase,. But if they make it through that, they get to the third phase, which is recognizing celibacy as the gift and the liberation to be the best priest that they can be.
