Those Who Were Shot Dead, Some Got Injured
The samali islamist group, al shabab, almost immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. They said in retaliation for kenya's military action against them in southern samalia. There was confusion between the various different security forces and off duty police officers who were also trying to coordinate evacuations. No one was even sure how many gunmen there were. The number of ambulances that has been leaving this place, have lost count of them, may be more than ten.
