Sophia: The soul is the system of interrelated parts that keep an animal alive. It develops when a creature develops in the womb or in an egg, and when it dies, it's soul dissolves. Aristotle says transmigration of souls is rubbish because you couldn't make your way into a duck body as you don't have a duck soul. So it is really crucial that we understand the soul while we are studying living beings around us.
