i'm very for increasing pay, especially in a way that's logical and getting it early to teacher is really important to me. But i think white progressives, especially, whether it's for reasons of guilt or like, misplaced sense of allyship or whatever, seem to be the first people running to make excuses for a system that's letting kids down.
