Andrew Kehoe set an alarm clock in the basement to go off at 9.45, 15 minutes after classes began on the last day of school. The north wing of the school collapsed, starting with the roof. But by some insane stroke of luck, the teacher had succumbed to a request for more students to read them a story on the other side of the room and all of them were spared.
