Richard Florida's new book, "The New Urban Crisis," is due out in 2017. He says cities are running after the tech and fire industries to keep their economies going. But once they get some wins, you can't reach them anymore, he says. And so what ends up happening is you have like this massive inequality both within cities, but also between cities; there's just no catching up.

Paris Marx is joined by David A. Banks to discuss how cities have been reshaped to attract tech companies and what the consequences have been for the people who live in them.
