Is Live Edit Really Beneficial?

Kotlin allows developers to write longer and longer functions so that they can take advantage of live edit. But when you extract a method, you are adding a method, right? Which is the thing that is not yet allowed. You use live edits as much as you can until you can no longer use it or you set up all your functions and structure ahead of time and then you use live edit to fill in the body. The focus on the code actually really helped making live edit pretty useful.
