Without massive aid from the west, mostly the fruit of turncoats or dupes in america and also in britain, the soviet union would almost certainly not have been able to survive. Without military primacy, communist global domination could not be assured. This was the period when communists outside russia refused to co operate with other parties of the left in any matter. Meanwhile at home, stalen was furiously industrializing, while at the same time massacring kulaks,. starving millions of eukranians and filling the gulags slave labor for his industrialization programme. None of his industrialization would have been possible without immense western help.
