The Importance of Consulship

Biblus declared that every day left in his and Caesar's consulship was a holy day. Public business would be shuttered for the rest of the year. It was obviously an abuse of power, but technically an insurmountable hurdle to Caesar's entire program. Without a legal leg to stand on though, Caesar pressed on for a vote on the land bill anyway.
