The Importance of Poetry in Comedy

I appreciate the stand-up comparison because I was definitely thinking of that when I was writing them. It's like, do you ever notice this about philosophy? You know, so it was fun to just riff like that. As if every joke though, like we're more challenging than most of what happens in stand-up. So I was like, what if I just tried to make every line as if not good, then at least as surprising and alive as a YouTube comment?
