How Does a Whale's Blowhole Work?
Justine hudson studies marine mammals in the canadian arctic. Her research has gotten her so close to a whale's blow hole she's been covered by the spray. Whales are mammals, just like we are, and breathe air - they don't have gills. And instead of whales having to lift up a flipper and hold their nose cloted like this hen open em up, they've just got a single muscle that does that for them. Just blow and go. It's just a simple five step process.
