The Return of the Hymn of the Deep From the First Movement
The whole toned tri tone motive is the plaintive and desperate cry from the first movement. There's more and more action as things keep heating up and piling up, until finally everything seems to collapse broken. This dignified, noble, magisterial music ushers back the return of the first theme of the last movement. Remember that violent and restless one? And the hymn seems to do the trick.
