The Veroism of Pietro Bembo

Pompanazzi wrote two works responding to critics, the most significant one being Agostino Nifo. The two had clashed before, having been rival since the 1490s when both lectured at the University of Padua. Aracel's treatises were assiduously taught and studied there alongside commentaries on his works. But this does not imply that all the Paduans were in agreement about how to interpret them.
