Roman and leagues have tried to pin down when this change happened in the mammal lineage, using a surprising line of evidence. The inner ear is very important for matror function of the body, like a stabilization of gaze, navigation, moto coordination, balance. So as temperature increases, when you go from cold blood to warm bloodd the organism between to modify the structure of the inner ear to compensate for this decrease in viscosity linked to temperature. And this is why looking at the morphology of the innerEar in a way that is linked by mechanics allow us to trik this body temperature changing.

The evolution of ‘warm bloodedness’ allowed mammals to live in a more diverse range of habitats, but working out when this occurred has been difficult. To try and pin down a date, researchers have studied the fossilised remains of ancient mammals' inner ears, which suggest that this key evolutionary leap appeared around 230 million years ago.
