Euclidean Distance in Cluster Analysis
When you have variables that are in very different metrics, one of the first things is to put them on common units. So we could have 18 different characteristics of hot sauces if we want. And assuming for now that they're all continuous, there is still a Euclidean distance between observations. Patrick set up this really nice dichotomy between methods that are hierarchical and methods that are non-hierarchical.
