The Joy of Units of Measurement
The joy for me has been not simply to be able to translate but think about units of measure. The height of a human being is fascinating even in single cultures. In the US, Liberia or Myanmar it would be considered to be 6 foot 2. But how are you measured if you're 18 months old? You measure in inches only. And so there's a lot of things that have to happen that are for me deeply fascinating and very, very interesting.
