The Potential of Resting State in Functional MRI

I think there is some interesting work, especially coming out of Kathy Price's lab where they're trying to find sort of one task that by virtue of what you manipulate can be clinically useful on a single subject basis. And I think there's great potential promise and interest. My personal feeling is that one of the reasons functional MRI is still rather contentious sometimes in terms of surgical application is this concept of how specific is it. But if we don't have an option sometimes you can only do one task. So Andreas and I are generally on board with ideally using more than one task to probe more selectively individual aspects of language.
