The Importance of Intentions in Star Trek
I think that the difference there is that Star Trek is taking itself seriously. It's presenting, it's not like making fun of anything. It's just saying like here's an imaginary version of the future and its impulses and intentions are very sincere. Like Star Trek is just like look, if you can vanquish war and poverty on earth, you get to go explore the cosmos. But then there's like an episode where Beverly's dead grandmother is in a candle and is like very horny. I haven't seen that one but people have been telling me I need to watch it again.
