The Importance of Transportation in the United States
The United States just adopted a budget with lots of theater about a debt ceiling, but the budget is an austerity budget. It gives enormous amounts of money to corporations and takes away from the social safety net. This comes in the U.S. after the last 30 years during which the gap between rich and poor became much greater. There was never a time when corporations needed government support less, and they get it even more. The people at the top try very hard in a declining empire to hold on to the wealth they enjoy.
