Screen writers should not try to break down the hero's journey into 21 rigid steps, or trying to write an emotional mother or a terrible father for your character. Those are archetypa terms used by humorous journey people. When we approach our screen writing through the labels, we stop seeing characters, end up writing stereotypes.
