A Laser Can Produce a Conducting Lightning Rod
Paris' echo polytechnic scientist Aurelia År has built one of the world's most powerful lasers. When firing it into the air during electrical storm, it can be used to produce a short-lived conductive thread through the air. The long-term vision for this is to use devices just like this to protect high-value and sensitive sites where lightning strikes could be dangerous or disruptive.
