Slappy voiced by Jack Black in a way that is only occasionally awkward during like yeah quick cuts from Slappy talking animatedly to Jack Black talking animatedly but mostly they're doing a different enough thing that you don't really think about it. I like that Slappy always refers to him as Papa. R.L. Stein is Slappy's dad and Slappy does not like Slappy is aware that he is if you've ever watched Star Trek the next generation. He strains against the chains that bind him to this life that he that he didn't choose for himself and it makes him mad. So Slappy knows that he has been confined in a book he knows he's a character
