The Power of Iteration
The trolley problem has become a very popular technology ethics problem to give to engineers queuing up the idea we talk about this in the context of driverless cars all the time. The value is things like the trolley problem and talking to engineers about technology ethics early on isn't in my view to get them to be more ethical designers. But it's to understand the role of the society as part of this much larger system of expressing and capturing the values of our society.
