i think that any honest reckoning with 20 years, even what we were trying to do last time, well, when the whole premise is flawged, like those preseents could have done things differently and still led to the same result. There was just no political universe in which an american present could have well over a hundred thousand troops in afghanistan for ell over another de a, two, 50. And so trying to make it about anything other than the original premise and decision seems to still be so hard wired into the American establishment.
