Ariel McCullough's Life and Work
Ariel Platt was born in 1932 and published her first poem at age 8. Her dad died of diabetes when she was eight, so he assumed that he also had lung cancer. He compared his symptoms to those of a friend who had died of lung cancer. This led to him not getting his diabetes treated, which led in part to like his foot being amputated.
