What's Your Favorite Messenger?

Almost all the people I talk to on a day-to-day basis in my personal life are on signal. matrix is untended encrypted um it's open source you can self-host it and resets permissions pretty frequently but it does work. The bridges system is a bit hacky I mean discord's not n10 to cryptid oh I hate discordUm matrix like vanilla matrix if you're not using with bridges, use element or one of the other popular clients. It uses the phone numbers as a uh like a contact mechanism which is just very user friendlyPeople will have basic security in mind at least for your account so it's a great starting point.
