The Cognitive Effects of Music in the Classroom
Starsh: I think the cognitive effects are definitely there, but not big enough to be significant. Students with particular learning needs do need it to block out those external distractions. Stutt: The kids really need to know why it's a good idea. And if you can show them that research and that study, say, hey, if we can listen to this instrumental music, it's actually going to help you learn a lot better.
