The Suicide of Juan Averez
Juan averez was found guilty of multiple counts of first-degree murder. The special circumstances arose due to their being multiple victims, and so if found guilty, one faced the death penalty. His wife Carmelita visited her husband while he was in custody. She told the washington post about moment he decided not to end his own life. He said he felt like there was a presence from god telling him to get away.
