3D vs. 2D in 3D Printing

Food printing technology has been around for almost 20 years. Scientists started to wonder if they would be able to do it with food. Guy Ra's printer only printed 2 dimensionally on paper, like his tax forms here. But what if I printed a whole stack of 1,000 tax forms? And then the tax forms would have width, height, and length,. making it a 3D tower of tax forms. Oh! Food printer, you don't say.
