Pyrimrin increased the enzymatic activity of what's called matrix metalloproteinase, which degraded the fibrous cap of a pre-existing plaque. And it caused those plaques to rupture leading to these adverse events. It did not have younger women. It only happened in women more than 10 years out of menopause or older than 60 years of age. Younger women, it had a protective effect.
