The History of Gun Control

This is not so far an explicitly racist novel, but he's making the choice to not lead at all with the history of gun control as it involves the suppression of black people's right to carry concealed handguns. He's also leaving out a decent chunk of like, some of the first gun control laws in the country were also passed in order to stop anarchists from carrying handguns and as part of the labor movement. So we're not really getting any of that. We are really, he is making a really pointed choice by focusing on Miller in 1938 as kind of the birth of all this gun control.
