At the peak of its existence, how many houses and how many people were living in Seneca Village? According to maps, it appears that when Seneca Village was actually destroyed, they removed somewhere in the range of 260 to 265 buildings. We're talking about a major piece of real estate and a lot of houses. The census as a source relative to the African-American population has always been problematic.
