How Long Can You Put Your Money Into a Fund?

Once you've had a gain, there's pretty tricky rules on when you can put money into a fund. You either have 180 days from when the deal actually sold, or you have180 days from the end of the calendar year for that partnership. So what that means, logistically, is that if you had a partnership that sold something in February of 2022, well then you had a window from February of August to last year. From August to December of 2022, you were not allowed to invest in an OZ fund. And now from January to September of 2023, you are allowed to investment in an Oz fund.
