The Importance of Having a Strong Relationship With Your Manager

In a matrix scenario, how does that work? Like are you all called into the room and then you're accountable to a bunch of people? How does it work in actual workflow? I think the pro of it is if you have a lot of interdependency and you set up your relationships to recognize that, then you can move things forward together. And it avoids having to go backwards and redo work because you didn't have the right people at the table. It's hard to know if this person, just their manager has too much going on or if their manager just doesn't have those soft skills.
