The Limits of Genetic Programming in Machine Learning
Bruce Schneier: Genetic programming is one of the few subfields of machine learning that has an infinite hypothesis space. But in practice, he says, it's actually quite limited today. He doesn't see how a facial recognition algorithm built on a gradient descent mechanism can have anything to do with natural selection. Schneier: I would be careful talking about natural selection in conjunction with machine learning generally.
