Vermont's Child Care Bill Is a Decade in the Making
The bill would make childcare free for families of four that make less than $52,000 annually. Governor Scott has said he will reject any bill that imposes new taxes. Democrats have a super majority in the legislature and they've promised to override veto. Child care advocates hope one day all families in Vermont will pay no more than 10% of their household income on childcare.
