SAG represents 170,000 members in 13 different designations. To qualify for SAG's health plan, a member must earn $26,470 in a year. 12.7% got there last year; 87.3% of those actors did not make enough to get health care. A proposal made by the companies would have allowed them to pay an actor for a single day, scan their image and then replicate it in perpetuity for free.
