Claudia and April do have a conversation at the end of the book. And we realized that April without her mom asking her put Monday in the freezer. Why? Because she wanted more time to at least get Tuesday in her out. There was a time when all the kids were taken from the home and Tuesday was even going to be adopted by this family. All the other kids were like in the system in some other way.
