The Disagreement Between Human Communication and Other People's Views
I think this poem is partly about who we are and how other people see us. There's an image, isn't that of a man in a phone box? I can just about get away with using this image because there are still some phone boxes around. And the theory is that human communication is a bit like watching someone in a phonebox. You're standing outside. You might catch the odd word if their voice is raised loud enough. So you'll really have into piece together as best you can what is going on. That seems unlikely to me.
