The Different Views of the Periods of Time
Protestant denominations in the later sixteenth and early seventeenth century wanted to intellectually demarcate themselves from the Catholic Church. They distanced themselves from Aristotelian science, which was the bedrock of all natural philosophy done in Europe prior to 1600. But a couple of hundred years later, those same tactics are used against Christianity as a whole, and religion as a whole.
