The White House is assessing whether social media platforms are legally liable for misinformation spread on their platforms and examining how misinformation fits into the liability protection process by section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. On the other hand, the CDC and some of these other included lesser agencies, if you will, that gets really hard. They have no stick with which to do anything to the social media companies.
