Plato's Homeric Poems - What Should Be Done?

Plato wants massive censorship, not just of the gods, but of all characters and all literature. Plato didn't exactly want to scour Homer from the record, only to change the Homeric poems into sanitized moral lessons that inculcated over and over again the same core messages.
